Many teenagers start vaping because of their peers. It starts with one person who is addicted to nicotine. Then a group of friends gathers in a basement, car or bathroom and vape together. It is something to do whenever kids hang out. The culture promotes peer pressure that even the strongest people can struggle with. The brain is not fully developed until the age of 26, and that means when adolescents are faced with the choice to be accepted and join their friends or say no to vaping, their brains prioritize peer acceptance. I think we should continue to educate others on the health aspect, as well as the social aspect.
